Obviously, we’re not including startup companies such as Lucid, Rivian, Bollinger and Fisker. Here, in alphabetical order, is a rundown of where all the world’s automakers stand on going electric. Others have set dates certain when they’re going to stop developing internal-combustion engines. But some auto companies have gone further, and actually set dates for when they will produce only “electrified” cars (batteries and hybrids) and/or pure EVs. ![]() ![]() Every international automaker is introducing battery cars, and plug-in hybrid options are increasingly part of model lines. There’s no longer any doubt that the auto industry is going electric. Mercedes-Benz EQS is effectively the electric equivalent of the full-size S-Class sedan.
